Recorded 5/25/2021

Dr. Brian Paris

When Sacramento estate lawyer, Michael Yee, founded the Yee Law Group, he was continuing a family tradition of providing for the Sacramento community that his great-great-grandfather started more than a century ago when he arrived in California during the Gold Rush.

Dr. Wah Hing (born Yee Fung Cheung), was a renowned herbalist who treated patients using the traditional remedies he had learned in China. At one time during his career, Dr. Hing was operating three apothecaries at the same time in Sacramento. He is also known for saving the life of his most patient, Jane Stanford, the wife of Governor Leland Stanford.

In his own practice, Michael is committed to providing each client with the education and tools they need to make informed decisions about estate planning, asset protection, investments, real estate, and more. Michael’s focus is helping clients build and protect their assets in order to obtain financial security for themselves and their families, for both the present and in the future when they are no longer here to provide for their families.

After studying both business economics at the University of California, Los Angeles, and international business law at the Anderson School of Management, Michael earned his Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

Among his many legal achievements, Michael was named to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars List, Norther California in 2019 and 2020. He received the Avvo Clients Choice Award in 2019, 2020, and 2019, and he was named 2020 Top Lawyer by Sacramento Magazine.

He is also very active in the Sacramento community. In addition to his involvement with the American Bar Association and Sacramento County Bar Association, he is involved with the South Placer Estate Planning Council, Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce, and serves on the boards of various local civic organizations. Michael is also legal counsel for the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Association.
